On Friday I
was doing my Finnish matriculation examination, so unfortunately I didn't have a chance to be in lesson doing the independent work. On Monday I had
the oral exam. I was pretty nervous before the exam, but anyway I survived it.
We had only
little time to prepare for our exam and I didn’t have time to do all the
preparations. I went to the exam without
even looking at the text that I had to read, so I was a bit irritated. After
all I didn’t too big failures when reading the text and asking questions. Yet, it was hard to answer my partner’s questions because the subject was unknown to
me, and I had never even heard about that.
After
reading, it was time to do a summary about a text. My text was about Finland
and tourism. We had to summarize the text in our own words, and I had a few
problems with it. I have never done a summary in oral about anything so that was
difficult! It was hard to come up with similar words that there were in the
text, and still tell the story without changing it.
The third
part was discussion. We decided to discuss about ticket disaster. It went
pretty well: my partner and I both had a lot to say.
From my
point of view, the oral exam was a bit difficult, and I could have done better
in it. At any rate it was good practice for the future because I’m going for an
au-pair next year, and I have to do well in the interview and so on.
