The fifth week was probably my favorite week of this course. I thought it was so fun acting out the fairy tales, and the little twist - soap opera style etc. - that was added to the exercise made the whole thing even more fun. I loved all the acts, enjoyed watching them, and laughed A LOT. It actually surprised me that I, a person who doesn't like acting, liked that exercise. That was probably the most fun English lesson I've ever had.
On Tuesday we had the English listening comprehension test, which, on my part, went as I had hoped and expected, and I'm happy with the result. I was very happy I didn't zone out even once during the test! (:
What I also liked about week number five was Friday's class. Our group had a lot of fun going through all the exercises. We accomplished a quite a lot, I think, doing probably at least 10 exercises, or so. We discussed giving micro loans, what we knew about old electric devises, and what we think about immigration. We also discussed briefly what we would wish for a birthday present if we had the sky as the limit. It's nice to dream every once in a while...
Today I had the oral exam with Linda-Maija. I think we did well, considering the fact that we didn't have a whole lot of time to prepare for the test (especially because it took us quite a while to grasp the idea of how the test is supposed to be done). I know I could have done a lot better in the first part of the test; I've never been very comfortable reading things out loud to others, but there's not really anything I can do about my nervousness. If I had read the text just by myself with no one aroud, I most likely would have done a lot better. By the time we got to the second and third part I had loosened up a little. The third part was my favorite, because I like those kinds of exercises, and I'm very used to having a conversation in English.
